CIRCUS ANIMALS
The Circus animals catalogue is very extensive: from the beaver to the ostrich, from the chimpanzee to the kangaroo, from the antelope to the flea and from the crocodile to the pelican, nearly every animal has modeled and, for the most part, has been tamed. The nineteenth century is the golden age of the presentation of tamed circus animals. It is also the time of accumulations : 70 white bears, 100 lions, just as many crocodiles, 50 elephants, all shown at the same time before crowds of astonished and amazed people. Men appear stronger than Nature, they dominate all species and rule the world with majesty.
